Local businessman Alan Duncan has bought the Strathblane Country hotel near Glasgow which sits within the Campsie Fells.

The Glasgow office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £1.5m on behalf of Pinamar, which has leased the property to a variety of tenants over its 21-year ownership of the hotel.

The detached Victorian-style property was built as an aristocratic family home within 10 acres of grounds.

Along with 10 en-suite bedrooms and a 50-seat brasserie restaurant, the hotel offers a lounge bar, a drawing room, a restaurant/function area and a private dining room.
