Sound monitors from Cirrus

Cirrus CR822B sound monitorResearch suggests that 68% of employers are unaware of new legal limits on noise exposure that come into force in April, setting an upper limit of 85 decibels for eight hours' exposure.

Those who fail to identify noise hazards and exposures and introduce measures to reduce risk and protect employees could face stiff penalties.

Help is at hand from Cirrus Research, which has developed a new range of sound monitors to help hospitality businesses measure the occupational noise levels inside their premises and the environmental noise levels outside.

Suitable for all sizes of business, from big hotels to small bars and pubs, the line-up ranges from sound level meters that will make establishments self-sufficient in noise measurement to DoseBadge personal noise dose meters that are worn by individual members of staff.

Prices start from £245.
