Pizzas account for 10% of the UK's fast-food and take-away market, which is the largest in Europe (twice the size of the German market and three times that of France). Whirlpool's new electric SmartCook Pizza Oven means you do not have to be a specialist pizza restaurant with a large oven to tap into this market.
Although it measures just 600mm x 548mm x 581mm - small enough to sit on a worktop - the oven can whip up a 34cm-diameter pizza in less than 90 seconds thanks to a patented double-cylinder system that transforms the enhanced convection appliance into a super oven.
The resulting pizza is claimed to have the taste and appearance of one cooked in a wood-fired oven.
The 3.7kW oven has electronic controls for temperatures up to 450°C and fan motors at both the top and bottom of the oven cavity for uniform fast cooking.
Priced at £2,216 excluding VAT, the oven comes with a one-year parts and labour warranty.
