Viňa VentisqueroChilean producer Viňa Ventisquero has become the first foreign producer to develop lighter-weight glass bottles at source for the UK market.

It has worked with UK organisation WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) to reduce the weight of the glass bottles in its Clásico range of wine by 45g to 412g and will extend the reduced-weight bottles (which have been revamped to deliver a cleaner label design) to the rest of its portfolio.

Viňa Ventisquero was the first winery in Chile to offset the carbon dioxide emissions of its wine transportation.
