Mount NelsonItalian wine specialist Lodovico Antinori has appointed Maisons Marques et Domaines as its UK agent for a portfolio of wines from his newest estates in Italy and New Zealand.

There are currently two wines in production from his Tuscan estate - Insoglio del Cinghiale 2006 (a blend of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot) and Il Pino di Biserno, which combines Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of Petit Verdot.

The estate's top wine, Biserno, which is still in barrel, will be available by spring 2009.

The estate at Wairau Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand, comprises 13 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and produces Mount Nelson, a classic Marlborough Sauvignon, and Ram's Hill, a premium wine fermented in three- to four-year old oak.
