Brakes winter saladCaterers seeking the freshest salad leaves with the lowest food miles are the target of the Brakes British Grown Winter Salad.

The pack is now available from its fresh produce specialist division, Pauleys, along with a pickled accompaniment in the form of Brakes Baby Beets.

The salad pack comprises red Salanova, crispy green lettuce, red chard, rocket, mizuna and pak choi that has been grown in glasshouses in the heart of Lancashire to provide an alternative to most winter salads that are normally imported from central and southern Europe.

The prepared and washed leaves are sold in 100g packs, while the baby beetroots come in 1.5kg packs.
