Business in Fairtrade tea is booming, with the sector worth œ15.8m a year, and Cafédirect - which claims a 31% share in the Fairtrade hot beverage sector - says it will be adding more speciality teas to its line-up following the success of its Teadirect Earl Grey tea.
The tea, which it launched last year to meet customer demand, is made from Ceylon tea grown on smallholder farms in the Sri Lankan mountains and scented with bergamot oil.
It is sold in 100 tagged and 300 tagged and enveloped bag formats.
