Westbury Street Holdings (WSH), the parent company behind catering firms BaxterStorey and Benugo, has seen trade soar by 19% to £362m for the 12 months to 31 December 2010.

The WSH trading brands are led by B&I specialist BaxterStorey (England and Wales), which reported year-on-year growth of 15% and accounts for 66% of total revenues (£240m).

The remaining 34% of income came from its other operations, which include education caterers Caterlink (state) and Holroyd Howe (independent); BaxterStorey Ireland; BaxterStorey Scotland, front-of-house management service provider Portico; and deli to restaurant operator Benugo (total £122m).

Benugo and Caterlink both had a particularly strong 2010, with trade uplifts of 38% and 29% respectively. The state education caterer retained the group school meals contract for more than 100 primary and secondary schools in the London boroughs of Islington and Camden, while also winning new business in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Turnover at Benugo increased from £26m to £36m as the company picked up a £35m deal to provide hospitality services at public venues including Edinburgh Castle and the Historic Scotland group of castles.

Alastair Storey, WSH chairman and chief executive, said that 2010 presented a host of opportunities to all the brands.

"We have always known that focusing on sustainable practice and delivering leading edge careers would deliver the best possible solution for the market place and we are thrilled to that this continues to be evidenced in our results," he added.
