Opening in June 2009, Wat Tyler Centre is an exciting new venue for business, education, leisure and private events set in 125 acres of Country Park with panoramic views of the Essex Marshes and RSPB nature reserve.

Set in the heart of this exciting development sits an exhibition centre with a 90 seat cafe restaurant along with three conference rooms and external catering potential and as well as further satellite vending opportunities.

This presents a unique opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking and innovative catering company that is suitably qualified, experienced and resourced to provide food service on a six month contract basis with the potential for a longer term extension in 2010.

the current contract value is estimated to have turnover in the region of between £25 - £50K and the facility will be offered complete with all general fixtures and fittings and light equipment.

The council will not be obliged to accept any proposal. You will not be entitled to claim from the authority any costs or expenses which you may incur preparing your tender whether or not it should be successful.

to register your expression of interest please email diane.morrison@basildon.gov.uk before the closing date of 12 noon Thursday the 30th April 2009 including a one sided A4 document that outlines your company profile, current client base and a summary of unique characteristics that might well qualify it to work in partnership with Basildon Council on this outstanding opportunity.

relevant shortlisted expressions of Interest will be sent a tender pack week commencing Tuesday 5th May 2009. current expected timelines are: deadline for return of completed tenders 12 noon Wednesday 13 May 2009. Interviews will be held Thursday 21 May 2009. the abnticipated contract will be for six months with anticipated start date of Tuesday 9th June 2009
