Liverpool One to open first phase tomorrow

European Capital of Culture Liverpool will see the first-phase of its £1b leisure complex, Liverpool One, launched tomorrow.

The 42-acre residential and retail development located in the city’s Chavasse Park will be home to more than 20 restaurants and bars.

Those due to open at the site include Loch Fyne, Las Iguanas, Wagamama and Café Rouge, as well as Hilton and Novotel hotels.

As of tomorrow (29 May) part-one of the development will be open to the public, including coffee chains Costa Coffee and Pret A Manger, as well as restaurants in retail outlets John Lewis and Debenhams.

Liverpool One’s grand opening with be on 30 September.

Brasserie Blanc, Raymond Blanc’s eponymous chain of restaurants, pulled out of the development in January claiming it was “slightly too posh for a precinct”.
