Sodexo extends deal with Unilever

Monday 28 July 2008 14:03

Facilities management and catering company Sodexo has extended its relationship with consumer goods giant Unilever in a three-year deal worth £12m in total turnover.

The deal will see Sodexo providing a range of services, including catering catering, hospitality, cleaning, portering and reception, at four Unilever sites in the South-east of England. The contract includes an option to extend two years.

Sodexo, which already has existing arrangement at seven Unilever sites in the north of England, began working at Walton-on-Thames, Crawley and Kingston last month and is due to commence at Unilever’s site at Purfleet in Essex from September.

Sodexo is also supporting Unliever’s move from Walton-on-Thames and Crawley to new headquarters in Surrey’s Leatherhead later this year.

Unilever’s new headquarters will feature a development kitchen, which Sodexo will help operate, as well as a supermarket, staff restaurant and café/deli bar.

Ian Dunning, head of facilities management at Unilever UK, said: “Sodexo has demonstrated over the last few years at our sites in the North-west a true partnering approach.

“As a result of this we are delighted to be able to expand this relationship further to the UK operating company office locations which will include the full mobilisation and delivery of the support services to our Leatherhead building.”

Sodexo has also won a deal to provide soft services for pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. The three-year deal is valued at £9m in annual turnover and sees the company providing security, cleaning, laundry and disposal services. The contract includes AstraZeneca’s executive headquarters at Stanhope Gate in London.
