Sodexo names Bill Buchan as HR director of UK and Ireland healthcare

Sodexo has appointed Bill Buchan to the role of human resources director for its UK and Ireland healthcare division.

In his new role, Buchan will be responsible for delivering a human resources strategy which supports business growth and the company’s overall healthcare strategy. Emphasis will be placed on the recruitment, retention and development of talented people.

As a member of the healthcare executive team, Buchan will report operationally to managing director Simon Scrivens who said: “Bill’s background across a number of industry sectors, including the NHS, will assist Sodexo greatly as it develops its healthcare business.”

He will also join the UK and Ireland HR leadership team where he will report directly to Natalie Bickford, HR director, UK and Ireland.

Buchan said: “I am delighted to be joining Sodexo and working with both my healthcare and HR colleagues in order to help the business achieve its strategic objectives.

“I am particularly looking forward to working closely with our managers to ensure our people are developed and motivated to deliver outstanding results to our clients.”

Buchan joins Sodexo from Hess Corporation, where he was responsible for global resourcing. Prior to this he held a number of senior HR positions in the UK and overseas with a range of blue-chip companies including Abbey, BAE Systems, BG Group and Novar.
