Ministry of Justice: Provision of catering service

Monday 27 July 2009 00:00

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is one of the largest central government departments in the UK. Each year, the MOJ provides services for around nine million people within the British judicial system.

The MoJ is inviting expressions of interest from experienced, high quality catering contractors who are interested in providing catering services to the MoJ estate. Within Her Majesty’s Court Service (HMCS) catering provision is required for the Judiciary, Jurors, MoJ staff and the general public, the service required includes:

  • A hot/cold option prepared off site - This will offer a delivered-in self service option that may include cold sandwiches and assorted condiments.
  • Hot/cold option prepared on site - This will offer a selection of hot or cold products prepared and served on the premises via a counter service (rather than a sit down café). There will also be the provision for any potential provider to manage the vending service provision.
  • Full catering provision - This will involve a full on site catering provision that provides hot, cold and bespoke menu options. There will also be the provision for any potential provider to manage the vending service provision.

The MoJ has an immediate requirement across 60 plus sites within the HMCS estate. There are also immediate opportunities within Her Majesty’s Prison Service (HMPS) to manage catering provision to prisoners and staff mess’ as well as future opportunities for provision to the wider MoJ and to pan Government. The total value of those contracts for immediate award is approximately £7-million.

The MoJ is looking to award a 4 year framework agreement where potential providers qualify for entry on to the framework. Individual contracts will then be let on a call off basis from this framework on a national, regional or individual site basis.

Expressions of interest and applications for the pre qualification questionnaire should be submitted through the MoJ secure website. All documentation and further information is also available here. Potential providers should register with the BravoSolution website in order to access the information.

https://justice.bravosolution.co.uk/web/login.shtml

Completed pre qualification questionnaires must be submitted by 9am Friday 14th August.

Any queries regarding application for this requirement should be directed via the MoJ BravoSolution secure website.
