Innovate signs £15m procurement deal with Pelican
Education catering specialist Innovate Services has signed a £15m procurement contract with Pelican Buying Company.
The three-year deal will see Pelican fully manage the caterer's purchasing needs, including supplier tenders and agreeing terms, pricing and required service levels.
Innovate now runs more than 65 school and college catering units and aims to identify financial savings by leveraging Pelican's national purchasing volumes.
Pelican is a privately owned firm that manages over £125m of purchasing for clients in a number of sectors including education, hospitality and private healthcare.
Derick Martin, co-founder and CEO of Innovate Services, said that the decision to outsource procurement to Pelican was an easy one to make.
He said: "The company has a solid reputation for managing millions of pounds worth of purchasing for organisations across a number of sectors.
"They have high professional standards and with their buying expertise and supplier network we will benefit from their buying power across our business."
Stephen Tennant, marketing and sales director of Pelican, added: "We are working in tandem with Innovate to manage their complete purchasing requirements, which will not only help the business save time and money, but provide immediate access to beneficial resources, including a 60-strong team, who are on hand at any time."
