Westbury Street Holdings launches leadership training scheme

Westbury Street Holdings (WSH) has launched a new training initiative to develop leaders across its five businesses.

Designed to support internal promotions, the Leadership Journey was officially launched last week to the group's 100 operations managers from BaxterStorey, Benugo, Caterlink, Holroyd Howe and Portico.

Alastair Storey (pictured), chief executive of WSH, said that investing in and developing the company's people was central to its success.

"The Leadership Journey enables operations managers to focus on their own strengths and areas they need to develop further," he explained. "By being open to developing themselves, we believe our operations managers will get more from their own teams, which we see as hugely important for the growth of our business in the long term."

Senior directors from across the WSH group analysed the operations manager role and together created a new profile and identified six leadership behaviours that were common in successful operations managers.

Development consultancy Epiphanies supported the WSH team in creating the Leadership Journey, which is described as a long-term investment in management talent. Its aim is to ensure a pipeline of potential operations directors to fuel future business growth and drive business performance.
