Vintage English is a new company that hires out vintage English china, styling and accessories to large and small events, both private and corporate, working closely with caterers, restaurants, venues and hotels.
Founder Michelle Chapman, noting a gap in the market for hired vintage paraphernalia during the royal wedding, seized the opportunity of voluntary redundancy from her career in education to turn her lifetime hobby for table dressing and collecting vintage bone china into a new business.
"I now have over 300 beautiful bone china tea sets and accessories such as teapots, cake stands, candlesticks and cutlery from as early as the late 1800s, including the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco periods," said Chapman.
Her inventory also extends to table displays for luxury sweets, traditional outdoor games such as croquet and skittles, and a hand-crafted Pashley ice-cream tricycle. The tailored service covers delivery and collection, set-up and set-down, cleaning, catering, flower displays and waitress service.
