The four-head Aguila

Portioned premium coffee specialist Nespresso UK has launched its first professional coffee machine for high-volume cafés, restaurants and hotels.

Its range to date - used in Michelin-starred establishments such as the Fat Duck, Sketch and the Ledbury - comprised of smaller units with single dispensing spouts.

The new flagship Aguila, however, has four extraction heads to meet demand in outlets with a large coffee turnover and is the group's most technologically advanced machine.

The Aguila has a high level of autonomy that includes a modular fail-safe design allowing one part of the machine to continue working while another part is being repaired. Other features include one-touch dispensing and cleaning/rinsing and two energy-saving modes that kick in after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Recent research by Allegra Strategies found that 85% of hospitality operators thought coffee was 'very important' to their business and 72% believed it would have a "significant impact" on future restaurant revenues, with just 28% expecting it to remain static.
