Avenance is continuing its contract with reinsurance company Swiss Re after the relocation of staff to the company's new London headquarters, 30 St Mary Axe, better know as "the gherkin". Avenance will employ 12 staff to provide working lunches and vending, and manage break areas and coffee machines throughout half of the 40-storey building. Avenance would not disclose the turnover of the contract. The 80-seat restaurant at the top of the famous Norman Foster-designed building, which will be operated by caterer Searcy's, is due to open in late May. It will open only to the building's tenants and their guests.
