Sweet bakery and ingredient supplier Dawn Foods has added an easy-to-use Farmhouse Cake Mix to its Baker's Select range that uses a natural orange oil to enhance the traditional spices.

Caterers simply add water and other fruits to produce a moist cake that, once baked, will last for six weeks at ambient temperatures when wrapped. The mix can be baked into traditional farmhouse shapes, fruit cakes or granny cakes. It contains no trans fats or hydrogenated fats, is low in salt, and contains few artificial ingredients.

The cake mix is supplied in 12.5kg bags and comes complete with a recipe sheet. It will yield 53 x 450g cakes, or 238 x 100g slices
