Fresh carrot sticksThe growing clamour for healthier kids' snacks has prompted Del Monte to launch a range of fruit and vegetable pieces packed in small bags for primary school children. It says the bite-sized pieces are more attractive to children and less messy than whole fruits and fruits in syrup. Each bag of Fruit Bites contains 80g of fresh fruit pieces that are equivalent to one of the recommended five-a-day portions. Fruit Bites come in two varieties - apple or apple and grape - in cases of 10s or 20s. Alternatively, the new Del Monte Fresh 50g snack bags contain 50g-worth of carrot sticks, apple pieces or grapes and are sold in cases of 30. All the snack bags have a six-day shelf life and use lemon juice to preserve the food.
