A New Zealander and a South African have announced their intention to muscle in on the UK recruitment market with the opening of 1st Contact Job Link in Victoria, London.

The company already has offices in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and is affiliated to 1st Contact, the UK-based traveller services company. This gives the new agency access each year to more than 10,000 inward-bound travellers coming to live and work in the UK.

Set up and run by New Zealander Mike Kaye and South African Reg Bamford, the recruitment agency aims to supply English-speaking staff for a wide range of temporary low-end positions, including those in the UK hospitality sector.

"Our candidates are educated and often professionally qualified people," said Kaye. "Having raised the money for an extended stay, they then need short-term employment fast."

Travellers looking for work in the UK can also benefit from a range of financial and tax services as well as a dedicated visa and immigration team, claims the company.
