The Institute of Hospitality (IoH), previously the HCIMA, has received official accreditation for its new hospitality qualifications.

The qualifications comprise: Level 2 business skills certificate for hospitality, leisure and tourism; Level 3 certificate in management for hospitality, leisure and tourism; Level 4 diploma for hospitality, leisure and tourism.

IoH chief executive Philippe Rossiter said: “It is anticipated that hospitality industry centres and training providers will begin offering the new qualifications from September 2007 onwards.”

The new hospitality qualifications will be assessed electronically, in line with the vision of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority for England to move towards on-line, on-demand assessment by 2009.

Available in England, Wales and Northern Ireland the qualifications support the Continuing Professional Development needs of hospitality industry managers and have been approved by skills body People 1st.
