The Angel pub in the heart of Exeter is being redesigned into a Mediterranean bar/café under its new owners, David Gibson and Leo Jacques.
The four-storey property is located near the city centre and the university and college campus. The business, which opens all day, attracts students during the day and over-25s in the evening.
The building comprises an open plan bar with 60 seats that will increase to 90 seats following a major refurbishment in August.
August will also see the addition of a new kitchen in the basement that will allow the new owners to add food to the business mix, starting with a new tapas menu and a wine list chosen after tasting sessions with local customers.
The first and second floors of the property are divided into seven self-contained flats, some of which are rented out.
The new owners will continue to offer a busy calendar of events that includes salsa dancing classes, jazz and blues jams, and open mic nights with guest DJs
Previous owner Steve Marshall sold the leasehold on the Angel through Stonesmith of Exeter off an asking price of £135,000.
