Crest Hotels is the new owner of a 49-bedroom commercial hotel on the outskirts of Bristol with planning permission to nearly double in size.

The Almondsbury Interchange hotel has a prime location at the crossover of the M4 and M5 motorways, where it is close to a number of business parks (including Almondsbury, Aztec West and Parkway) and large organisations such as British Aerospace, Orange and the Ministry of Defence.

It is also one junction from The Mall retail park at Cribbs Causeway.

The hotel was established in 1976 by farmers Roger and Hazel Biggin, who started offering B&B in their farmhouse which they went on to develop into a hotel.

Along with 49 en-suite bedrooms, the hotel offers a lounge bar and conservatory and a 90-seat restaurant that doubles as a meeting room.

There are also two conference rooms that can accommodate 100 guests theatre-style between them and a meeting room that will hold 12 delegates boardroom-style.

Parminder and Gujinder Singh of Crest Hotels plan to take advantage of the hotel’s planning permission to build a new accommodation block holding 44 more bedrooms.

Crest Hotels, which has owned a number of properties in Devon and Reading in the past, currently owns the Holiday Inn at Birmingham International Airport.

The Bristol office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £2.795m.
