Avenance adds law sites
Business caterer Avenance, part of Elior UK, has expanded its contract with law firm DLA. It will cater for a further 1,000 employees, bringing turnover to about £335,000 a year. The additional diners are at DLA's sites in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield and Bradford. Avenance already caters at the company's Leeds office. At the news sites, Avenance will offer "grab-and-go" food and Starbucks coffee, as well as investing in new counters for buffet lunches.
Scots boost for new Sodexho boss
David Pease, recently appointed managing director of Sodexho Scotland, has announced four new contract wins with a combined turnover of more than £1m a year. The company has retained its contract to provide catering and support services at the Scottish Fire Training College at Gullane, East Lothian. It has also added the cleaning contract at Coca Cola's site in East Kilbride to the catering it already runs, extended its staff catering and cleaning contract at Gleneagles hotel, and retained the cleaning contract at George Watson's College in Edinburgh.

Good Food on the Public Plate, a manual for sustainability in public sector food and catering, has been published by Sustain, the alliance for better food and farming, and East Anglia Link.
