The leasehold on the iconic Barca bar in Manchester – which was originally opened in 1996 by Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall and two business partners – has changed hands.
The new owner is local property company Adam Geoffrey Management, which plans to refurbish the bar and reopen it at the end of August as a food and drink venue aimed at ‘real’ Manchester people.
The detached property is built between two railway arches in the Castlefield area of Manchester, next to the Bridgewater Canal.
It offers a 35-seat ground-floor bar, a 110-seat function suite, a VIP bar, a 300-seat restaurant and, on the first floor, a 150-seat function suite.
Christie + Co sold the long leasehold off a guide price of £750,000.
