Ginger and Lemon Cake Square

Cake Squares from the Handmade Cake Company is a new range of sponges baked in trays and decorated by hand.

There are four varieties: Passion Cake Square - carrot cake with sultanas and darker sugars decorated with a cream cheese icing and finished with ground walnuts; Chocolate Cake Square - soft chocolate sponge baked with chocolate chips, topped with dark chocolate icing and decorated with chocolate "tagliatelle"; Ginger & Lemon Cake Square - ginger sponge made with stem and ground ginger and treacle, topped with lemon icing, drizzled with lemon curd and finished with pieces of stem ginger; and Rustic Apple Cake Square - spiced apple sponge with sultanas and lemon juice using a blend of different sugars, baked with a rolled oat and soft brown sugar topping over the batter.

The cakes are hand-baked and decorated in small batches and each 1.44kg square is pre-cut into 18 portions.

Supplied frozen, the shelf life of the product is eight months for the Passion Cake Square and 12 months for the other three varieties.
