Local hospitality partnership Nick Marriner and David Carr are the new owners of the award-winning West Yorkshire dining pub, the Old Glen House.

The stone inn, believed to be more than 400 years old, was originally a farmhouse and later operated as a Temperance hotel.

It is in the village of Baildon on the edge of Shipley Glen, overlooking the Shipley and Saltaire Valley at foot of Baildon Moor.

The Old Glen House has a host of period details such as inglenook fireplaces, stone walls and exposed beams.

Facilities include a 45-seat bar, a 32-seat restaurant, an 18-seat function room, and four-bedroom owners’ accommodation. Outside is a  landscaped beer garden with seating for 50 customers, a children’s play area and a large car park

The pub, which is known for its home-cooked food and real ale, was voted the Best Food Pub in Yorkshire & Humberside in 2006 and was h2b Journal’s Best Value Gourmet Food in Yorkshire in 2008.

The Leeds office of Christie + Co sold the leasehold off a guide price of £110,000 on behalf of John and Gemma Dyer.
