Twenty on the River

A private equity group has snapped up the Twenty on the River restaurant in Dorset’s River Stour Valley.

The property, which is approached by a long, tree-lined avenue, sits in 4.5 acres of land beside the River Stour in the East Dorset village of West Parley.

It lies off the B3073 Christchurch Road north of Bournemouth and south of Ferndown.

Twenty on the River is a prime dining destination and a popular venue for weddings, functions, and corporate events. It regularly hosts live music and jazz evenings.

It offers a 100-seat ground floor restaurant with oak flooring and a new bar area, a first-floor function room for up to 60 guests, and two-bedroom owners’ accommodation.

The landscaped gardens incorporate a 70-seat decked riverside seating area, a children’s playground and a large car park.

The Winchester office of Christie + Co sold the free-of-tie lease (which runs to 2020) off a guide price of £295,000. Annual rent is £38,000.
