Flinn keeps it simple at new Leeds restaurant

Friday 30 September 2005 11:16

Acclaimed Leeds chef Anthony Flinn is opening a new restaurant in the city next month.

Having made his name with an innovative approach to ingredients, Flinn has decided that his new restaurant will serve simpler food - such as risottos, good-quality steak, hand-cut chips and afternoon teas.

"I want to serve the things I'm always looking for on a Sunday afternoon in Leeds but can't find," the chef said. "It's ridiculous that you have to travel to Ilkley or Harrogate to get a proper cream tea. Round here they give you one scone, bought-in jam and whipped cream," he added.
