Organic turkeys from Sheepdrove

Organic Sheepdrove turkeySheepdrove Organic Farm has reared a flock of traditional turkeys for Christmas, including the Norfolk Black and Bourbon Red breeds.

The slow-growing turkeys have been free to explore the farm's pastures and hedgerows since June to ensure they mature to their natural weight.

The breeds are more angular-breasted than the Norfolk Bronze and are longer in the breast and leg.

Measures are taken to ensure the turkeys are slaughtered as humanely as possible so that their stress- and chemical-free lifestyles can result in the best-quality meat.

The farm has raised just 200 Christmas organic turkeys to be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
