Heston Blumenthal denies New York opening of Dinner

Heston Blumenthal has denied reports that he is planning to open a New York outpost of Dinner.

The three-Michelin-starred chef, who first opened the restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in London's Knightsbridge last year, said there are no plans to expand the concept at this stage.

"We are always talking to people about Dinner, Fat Ducks and Hinds Heads but there is nothing currently in the pipeline anywhere," a spokeswoman said.

"We have always said that we would love to open another Dinner but where and when are not even in conversation yet. I can confirm that there is nothing planned and that you will see nothing in the next 12 to 18 months at least."

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is run by the Fat Duck group executive chef Ashley Palmer-Watts. The menu pays homage to Britain's historic gastronomic past featuring dishes inspired by recipes dating as far back as the 14th century. The restaurant gained a Michelin star in October 2011, just nine months after opening.
