Italian restaurant and food shop group Carluccio’s has performed well over the Christmas period and is on track with its expansion plans, it said today.
The company reported a 22% rise in turnover for the 16 weeks to 14 January, in line with expectations, and said its minimum five-store opening target for the 2007 financial year is on course.
Carluccio’s recently opened two new sites in London, at the Brunswick centre in Bloomsbury and in Spitalfields, with a third opening, in the Trafford Centre in Manchester and fourth in Walton-on-Thames scheduled for the summer.
The fifth opening will comprise a new larger store in Covent Garden, which will include a full restaurant and retail offering and is scheduled to open later on in the year.
In addition, Carluccio’s said it secured an additional site in Quakers Friars, Bristol. The long-term development expected to open in the 2008/09 financial year.
