Restaurant operators sign up to Bristol centre redevelopment

A host of restaurant operators have signed up to the £500m regeneration of Bristol's central shopping area, it was announced today.

Carluccio's, Giraffe, Zizzi and Café Rouge are among the line-up to join the leisure element of the scheme, leaving just four restaurant sites remaining.

The redevelopment, led by the Bristol Alliance, a joint venture between Land Securities and Hammerson, will be completed next year.

Raymond Blanc’s 'Blanc Brasserie', Amano, Leon and Yo Sushi! have already committed to the scheme, in Quakers Friars.

Other operators that have exchanged contracts in recent weeks include La Tasca, Nando's, Druckers and Costa.

Keith Stone, leasing director at the Bristol Alliance, said: "We are delighted to have so many quality restaurateurs committed 20 months before opening, and many of them will be firsts for the city - even for the South-west region.

"We have always said that the numerous opportunities for cafes and restaurants within the scheme will help to transform Bristol into a vibrant, 24-hour city, and these new signings confirm our aspirations. The whole development is already 60% committed".

Letting agents on the Bristol redevelopment are Donaldsons and Lunson Mitchenall and catering agents are Coverpoint.
