Accent adds wins another trio of school contract

Accent Catering has launched catering services at three schools in and around London, adding £250,000 in annual turnover to its books.

The caterer is now providing services on a one-year rolling contract basis at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic primary school in Holloway, north London; Lyon Park infant and junior schools in Wembley, north-west London; and Cippenham infant and junior school in Slough, Berkshire.

Accent, set up in 2002, has facilitated a new on-site kitchen and counters at Sacred Heart as part of the deal and at Lyon Park is feeding 900 pupils via a central production kitchen.

At Cippenham Accent is feeding more than 700 pupils in a purpose built dining room that has recently been refurbished with new kitchen equipment introduced.

The challenge for improving the diet of the nation’s school children was highlighted this week when research revealed that parents are unimpressed with school guidance on what they can and can’t include in their kids’ packed lunches.
