Interlocking air management systems from Genesis

The three models of interlocking fresh air management systems (iFAMS) from Genesis Controls will automatically improve the air quality in commercial kitchens while reducing gas and electricity use by up to 20%. The upgradable systems control ventilation fan speeds automatically in proportion to the gas use and prevents staff from either using cooking equipment to heat up the environment or from tampering with the ventilation controls. The units, which comprise a control panel, an air-flow sensor, a gas-flow sensor and a solenoid valve, require only one maintenance visit per year.

The standard model provides environmental and energy-control technology, interlocking gas protection, and fan control. The iFAMS Gas-Check additionally incorporates an integrated gas-proving system, while the iFAMS Eco+ adds a timer control for up to five cook runs. Genesis calculates that the units can save larger premises with monthly energy bills of £2,000 between £4,800 and £9,600 a year, while smaller operators with utility bills of £1,000 a month can expect annual savings of between £2,750 and £3,500.
