Drinks cooler from Scotsman Beverage Systems

Ice BellThe Ice Bell's cascading fountain of compacted ice flakes creates a theatrical display cooler that will stimulate impulse buys of chilled bottles and cans, according to drinks equipment supplier Scotsman Beverage Systems (SBS). The one-metre-tall, illuminated, open-topped ice bin is shaped like an inverted soda bell glass and is a refinement of a design developed by Coca-Cola to be easier to install, use and maintain. It recycles melting ice flakes into new flakes that spurt from the top of the unit while the easy-change filters, which use micro filtration and silver ion technology instead of the original chlorine-based system, stay bacteria-free for three months. The Ice Bell has fewer moving parts than the prototype, more user-friendly electronics, and white fluorescent internal lighting. It can also be dismantled and reassembled to fit through a standard door. The chiller can be supplied in any colour, with customised branding or signage. SBS is currently developing a version for beer, lager and cider based on a conical beer glass shape.
