Harry’s Bar, the iconic City bar and restaurant, is to launch its second branch in the square mile with plans to expand to five sites within the next two years.
The bar – not to be confused with Richard Caring’s members’ club in London’s Mayfair - first opened in the Old Bailey in 1987 before moving to its current site in Abchurch Yard in 2005. Founded by owner Harry Haddad, the concept has developed a committed following among City workers.
Located in Ironmonger Lane on the site of the former Zzeds bar, the second site is just 10 minutes walk from the first outlet.
Property agent Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL) let the site on a 25-year lease on behalf of landlord ING Real Estate.
Josh Leon, acting agent at DCL, said: “This is a great example of how successful operators that have a great concept and know an area well can take the plunge and expand despite a recessionary climate.”
