The Highland Park ](http://www.highlandpark.co.uk)single malt whisky brand, distributed in the UK by Maxxium, has teamed up with Slow Food UK to move into the world of gastronomy via a new initiative called the Slow Food Chef Alliance.

The alliance, which will champion small-scale producers and sustainably sourced, quality foods, has already attracted support from some of the UK's leading chefs, including Richard Corrigan, Michel Roux Jnr, Raymond Blanc, the Ledbury's Brett Graham, Zucca's Sam Harris, Oloroso's Tony Singh and Colin McGurran from Winteringham Fields.

The campaign will include sponsorship of the Slow Food Restaurant of the Year category at the 10th World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards, along with a sampling programme in tandem with local chefs and producers that will reach 30,000 consumers at key events such as the Great Yorkshire Show and Taste of Christmas.
