Restaurant operator Out of Town Restaurant Group (OTRG) has collapsed into administration, Caterer can reveal.

The company has appointed administrators Robson Rhodes to facilitate the ongoing trading and sale of the business.

Simon Bower, partner at Robson Rhodes, said that OTRG reached a point where it needed the help of administrators but added he felt positive a buyer could be found to take the business on as a going concern.

“We have already received significant interest and are confident that we can achieve a going concern sale,” he said.

“In the meantime it’s business as usual and we continue to receive the support of the staff and suppliers.”

A spokesman for OTRG added: “The group operates a number of profitable restaurants, food court and coffee shop units in sought after locations in major shopping centres. We are optimistic about the long term, wellbeing of the trading units.”

OTRG comprises three divisions operating in the food and leisure sector through 57 outlets throughout the UK including the 14-strong Madisons coffee deli concept. Last year the company launched its all-day concept, the Lounge, in Sheffield.
