Stadia and leisure operator Lindley Catering has extended its seven-year long relationship with Colchester United FC in a deal worth £8m.

Lindley, which provides public catering services at the club’s Layer Road ground, has been signed up to continue doing so at the new £14m, 10,000-seater Colchester Community Stadium.

The stadium, which opens this summer, will be home to Colchester – recently relegated to League One - from the start of the 2008/09 football season.

Lindley, which has signed up for five years, will look after corporate hospitality and public feeding on match days as well as running a café open to the public and conferencing at the site.

Sue Page, head of commercial operations at Colchester United FC, said: "The new Community Stadium opens up a whole host of opportunities for us to develop revenue for the Club outside match days and we were keen to retain Lindley’s skills to help us in this important area."
