Bag-in-a-box from The Big J

Wednesday 30 May 2007 16:40
Lack of space, concerns about wastage and cost are among the reasons why outlets may not have introduced a 100% pure fruit smoothie to their menu despite it being one of last year's fastest-growing soft drink categories, says The Big J.

The manufacturer's solution is the bød bag-in-a-box machine, which it says is easy to clean, has a shelf life of 21 days once opened, serves up to 80 ice-cold smoothie servings with each box, and takes up just 36cm x 55cm of counter space.

Each smoothie serving is 100% pure fruit, so it contains lots of fibre, antioxidants and vitamins with no additives or preservatives. There are three flavours - blueberry and raspberry, pineapple and lime, and mango and orange.
