Porter Electric Chiller

The Porter Electric Chiller is a carbon-free refrigerated van for urban food deliveries that can deliver significant savings for operators in large towns.

It is a conversion of Piaggio's  Porter Electric van, whose long-life lead-gel batteries produce zero emissions to make the  vehicle exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty and congestion charging.

Cold Logic completes the package with the use of a small, light Hubbard refrigeration unit that is powered by its own battery supply but charges at the same time as the van. It keeps the load area at temperatures between 0°C and 5°C.

The van has an 80-mile range between charges of either eight hours through a 13amp socket or a two-hour fast charge using a three-phase supply.

The compact left-hand-drive model provides loading access from all sides via twin side-loading doors and a full-height opening rear tailgate.

It is priced at about £20,000.
