Avenance UK chairman resigns

Thursday 30 June 2005 09:36

Tim West has resigned as chairman of Avenance UK.

In a resignation letter, the outgoing boss of the Elior-owned company said: “It is never easy to recognise the appropriate moment to move on, but now is that moment.”

“As a new chapter opens for Elior UK now is the appropriate time for me to stand aside to allow others with fresh ideas and energy to drive forward what is now a large and successful company.”

West added that he plans to stop actively working for the company at the end of the year.

It is not yet known where West will go but food service consultant Chris Brown believes he will stay in the contract catering sector.

“He’s a heavyweight and is a passionate advocate of the industry,” he said.

In a statement to Caterer, West added: “Several opportunities have presented themselves and in the coming months I will determine more precisely what I will be doing in 2006 and beyond.”

It is not yet known who his successor will be.
