Kirsten Falk, the new general manager of the Roof Gardens in London's Kensington, has promoted
Ozan Dagli to restaurant manager at the property's Babylon restaurant. He was deputy restaurant manager at the Virgin Hotels-owned London site.
Chandri Jayawardena is the HCIMA's president for 2004-05. He is also currently senior vice-president of the Canadian School of Management and a professor at Revans University in the USA. He has a hotel background and was the first chairman of the HCIMA's Sri Lankan and Jamaican chapters.
The Conrad Istanbul hotel has selected
Asaad Farag as its general manager. He joins the 584-bedroom hotel from the Regent Wall Street hotel in New York, where he was also general manager. Closer to home,
Jean-Yong Pitton and
Francois Baudot have joined the Conrad London hotel as restaurant manager and conference and banqueting manager, respectively. Pitton was assistant restaurant manager at restaurant Tom Aikens, while Baudot was food and beverage manager at the Sugar Beach resort in Mauritius.
Edinburgh hotel the Bonham has appointed
Hans Rissmann as general manager. He joins from the property's sister hotel, Channings. Filling the vacancy created by Rissmann's departure is
Duncan Johnston, who joins Channings from the AA, where he was a hotel and restaurant inspector.
Ahead of a 1 June opening, Marston Hotels has put in place its senior management team at the £15m Cambridge Belfrey hotel.
Philip Thomas is general manager and was general manager at Tankersley Manor in Yorkshire, also a Marston hotel.
Niall Bird has become deputy general manager. He has spent the last year acting as a relief manager across Marston's portfolio of 15 hotels.
Lisa Oldroyd is the Belfrey's front office manager and was front-of-house manager at the Holiday Inn Kensington, in London. Head chef
Paul Murfitt joins from Marston's Chester Crabwell Manor hotel, where he was head chef.
Andrew McKnight has become managing director of Scottish Selection Hotels. He was general manager at the group's Bridge of Orchy hotel in Argyll.
The Whitbread-owned Brewery in central London has appointed
Simon Cooper and
Kate Shaw as senior sales executives. Cooper was sales and membership consultant at David Lloyd Leisure in London, while Shaw joins from the Kingsway Hall hotel, London, where she worked in event sales.
Move of the week
Daniel Mann, hotel manager of the Savoy hotel, has promoted
Joseph Cote to director of events at the Savoy and Simpson's-in-the-Strand, a new position. Cote was previously director of private events at the Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski Istanbul and has also worked as private events manager at the Savoy. The events department at the Savoy has been created to make it easier for guests to reserve private meeting space, from a dinner for two to a conference for 500.
