Creebridge Lodge, a three-star guesthouse in Minnigaff, Kirkcudbrightshire, has been sold for more than £289,000. David Caldwell with his wife bought the Victorian property. It has four letting bedrooms and one-bedroom owners' accommodation. Christie & Co was the agent.
Trio have designs on Devon hotel
The Normandy House Hotel & Restaurant in Ottery St Mary, Devon, has been sold for about £350,000. The four-diamond Georgian townhouse hotel has five letting bedrooms, a 32-seat restaurant, a lounge bar and a two-bedroom owners' apartment. New owners Paul Clarke, Mark Watson and Mark Genders are planning a full refurbishment, which includes transforming the basement area into a bar. The agent was Distinctive Business Agents.
Hydes swoop on the Heron
The Heron pub in Stowbridge, Norfolk, has been sold for more than £305,000 through agent Britannia Business Sales. Buyers Andy and Julie Hyde, from Essex, are newcomers to the trade. The Heron has a 36-seat restaurant, a snug and four-bedroom owners' accommodation. The riverside pub also has moorings.
Norwich tavern changes hands
The leasehold of the York Tavern in Norwich, Norfolk, has been sold to Simon and Ruth Codling and sisters Reina and Alyssa O'Reilly. The asking price was £90,000, although the selling price was believed to be wide of this. The property has a billiards room, a 24-seat dining room and a first-floor bar and function room. The agent was Britannia Business Sales.
Spenceleys to head up Headlands hotel
Graham and Sarah Spenceley have bought Kendal's Headlands hotel for very close to £390,000. The Cumbrian property has six letting bedrooms and an owners' house with three bedrooms. Former owners Graham and Gillian Kellington have retired and bought a house in the area. Colliers Robert Barry was the agent.
Soroba hotel sold again
The Soroba House hotel in Oban, Argyllshire, has been sold for about £350,000. The 18th-century country house hotel has a bar, a restaurant, a conference room and four letting suites. The property was sold in November last year to Graham and Jo Lyle, with a bungalow and 10 self-catering units. The sale this time is for the main hotel building only. Local couple Alan and Mary McKie are the buyers. Christie & Co was the agent.
Couple take on Scottish lodge
Ross-shire's Ledgowan Lodge has been sold for substantially more than its £350,000 asking price. The 12-bedroom property in Achnasheen has been taken over by Ken and Dianne Duffield from Wales. Set in 10 acres, the hotel has a 36-seat restaurant, a function lounge for 80 people, a dining room for 20, a bar and a games room. There is also a two-bedroom owners' flat and a bunkhouse to sleep 12 people. The agent was Bruce & Company.
