Alan Yau’s latest restaurant Cha Cha Moon in London’s Soho has been forced to close due to smoke damage, Caterersearch has learnt.

The restaurant, which opened on Ganton Street last month, will be closed until Friday (4 July) while maintenance work takes place.

A spokeswoman told Caterersearch that the damage was only minor and the restaurant would be fully operational again shortly.

Cha Cha Moon is a “fast casual” Chinese noodle bar and Yau’s UK take on Hong Kong’s thriving noodle street stalls.

In January Alan Yau sold his Michelin-starred restaurants Hakkasan and Yauatcha to Tasameem, a property arm of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority for more than £30m.
