The 4-star Macdonald Burlington in Birmingham has named Derek McDonagh as its new general manager. His appointment comes during a £1m refurbishment of the hotel's 115 bedrooms. He joins Macdonald Hotels after 14 years with Jurys Inn. Since 2005, McDonagh has sat on the executive of MARCHE, the Midlands Association for Restaurants, Catering, Hotel and Entertainment venues.
