Trust Inns puts 15 pubs on the market

North-west pub operator Trust Inns has put 15 of its sites on the market, with prices ranging from £125,000 to £500,000.

The company, which owns approximately 580 pubs in England, Wales and Scotland, is selling 11 freehold and four long-leasehold units predominantly in the North of England.

Martin Stansmore, corporate pubs negotiator at property agent Christie & Co, which is handling the sale, said: “Given the nature of these sites and the potential for alternative use, we expect these pubs to attract a considerable amount of interest from speculators, property developers and specialist leisure investors as well as the traditional public house groups.”

Trust Inns, previously the Pub Estate Company, was set up in 1995 and is headed by managing director Brian King. The company, which spent more than £100m buying 102 community pubs from Mitchells & Butlers in 2006, did not divulge the reasons for the sale.
