Restaurant group Smollensky’s has added a ninth property to its collection, with more in the pipeline.

A new restaurant in Croydon, Surrey, is currently undergoing building work and is expected to open 2 November.

Other new London openings scheduled for the company include Richmond on 5 October, and Charing Cross Road in November.

Smollensky’s currently has restaurants in the Strand, Hammersmith, Canary Wharf and Tower Bridge in London, as well as Twickenham, Middlesex and Oxford.

Established almost 20 years ago, Smollensky’s has adapted its American style grill menu to include Mediterranean and oriental cuisine.

Christie + Co, who negotiated the 25 year lease, would not disclose the sale price but said annual was set at £49,500.
